Charitable and humanitarian work in all its forms and specializations represents flowing springs of goodness for human societies. Available statistics and information indicate that voluntary charitable and humanitarian work and civil society institutions represent a title for the level of progress of society and a measure of its degree of development and civilizational increase. Despite the great interest in charitable and voluntary work in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the increase in the provision of various types of material and in-kind support, most of the charitable associations and institutions and civil society institutions working complain of a weak regulatory environment, low levels of management and performance, weak community participation, and a lack of financial resources, which has been reflected in the status of this sector and reduced its effectiveness in serving the great goals entrusted to it.
